Degree Programs

There are over 70 colleges and universities with music therapy programs approved by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA).

In addition to their degree, a music therapist must complete a six-month internship in a chosen specialty before taking the national board exam administered by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT).

Tennessee Technological University has created a database for clinical training internships in music therapy.

Additional internship information may be found at the AMTA website.
